CAPTURING THE WORLD OF THE HORSE AND THE HUMANS LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE PART OF IT
Nice that you’re here! I’m Melanie, the eyes behind the ‘picturecatcher’ lens and our mission is to help you capture and celebrate the unique connection we each share with our horses. You might describe me as a visual nerd who gets fired up over finding creative ways of capturing the everyday moments that make us tick.
I’d say it was a massive stroke of luck that I got popped out on a tb horse farm, nevertheless it took me a while to honour the fact that you can take the ‘girl outta the farm’ but you can’t always take the ‘farm outta the girl!’ So, after a good stint out in the world creating visuals to support the story telling aspect of t.v. and film productions like ‘Normal People’. I’m now on my mission to change the world ;-) one smile at a time. Let’s be honest - when have you last looked at a photo of your horse, or recognised your business’s contribution to a winning equine team, and not smiled, on the inside at least ?!
FLASHBACK!
I did mention those classic ‘taken by mom’ photos we all cherish - of course I still have them! This was my much loved pony 'Cliff' gifted to me by my hero - our local equine vet, when I was 8 at our first hunter-trail.
Are you ready to capture some similar great moments to keep the smiles going long after the time has passed?
ON A SERIOUS NOTE
I’ve been visually educated (The National College of Art & Design) and worked in the world of visual media since graduation. I bring over 20 years of creative Art Direction experience from my career in the world of Film and TV to every shoot. I’ve had the pleasure of contributing to productions such as ‘Normal People’, ‘Modern Love’, ‘Sing Street’, ‘Brooklyn’, ‘Calvary’ and ‘The Tudors’ to name a few, and yes, we absolutely can make your barn look like a film set if needs be!
I have also trained and worked as a photojournalist in the UK with work published in national and regional press. Publications and clients inc; The Irish Field, Irish Times, Irish Independent, Herald AM, The London Independent, Yorkshire Post, Lancashire Evening Telegraph and Pentathlon Ireland; all work which allowed me to explore creative ways of visually story-telling, a vital component for equine businesses in today’s social media dominated world.
Horses bring so much joy to their people, from the soft touch of a nose to winning their first pony club event or beating the field by a short head. Let me help you tell your brand story by showcasing the best of your equine related business,
or create portraits to treasure as beautiful wall art in your home.
