Introduction.
This Privacy Policy is to ensure photography clients and models are informed about what personal information we hold and how it is used. Picturecatcher Photography operates within the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018. This Privacy Policy sets out how we collect and process any personal data provided by you in relation to the photographic work we do with you.

Picturecatcher Photography (Melanie Downes) is the data controller and collects and processes your personal data.

Name, address, telephone number(s), email address, photo/s.

Purposes for which personal data is processed.
We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to and on the basis of your consent.
The data you supply will be used for the following purposes only

  • to carry out the contract with you for the photo-shoot

  • to communicate with you for bookings, queries and print deliveries relating to your photo-shoot

  • to share model release forms and other necessary contract documents

  • to organise payment transactions and to provide invoices/receipts.

  • to respond to your comments or questions.

  • to make you aware of products and services which may be of interest to you - with your consent which you can withdraw at any time by contacting the data controller.


Your rights as an individual under data protection legislation.

  • The right to be informed about processing of your personal data.

  • The right to have your personal data corrected in case of inaccuracy and to have incomplete personal information completed.

  • The right to object to processing of your personal data.

  • The right to restrict processing of your personal data.

Who we disclose your personal information to.
We will only pass certain personal information to third parties where we are required to do so by law or where necessary to fulfill a service we provide.

How long will we keep your personal information?
We will not keep your personal information for longer than is necessary for the purpose for which it is held. This will depend on the nature of your relationship with us. In general, we will keep personal information for the following periods of time:

For seven years after your engagement of us as a photographer to enable us to deal with any subsequent queries and for legislative requirements relating to the processing of payment information.

After this seven-year period, to ensure we have a full historic record of all our clients, we will retain basic information relating to your account indefinitely i.e. name, address and phone number.

We will keep photographs indefinitely.


How we keep your personal information up to date.
To ensure we are able to communicate with you effectively, we only use the very latest data provided by you. To help us do this, please keep us informed if any of your details change.
